75When driving far away from the city to- wards a village, often the smartphone cell service cuts out. That part is expected of course, but what happens when you get a flat tire or the car breaks down? You’re stranded with no possibility of an AAA car service or the like coming to your rescue. Basically, you sit in the middle of nowhere with a flat, dirt brown expanse on either side of you, no trees for shade, and 90+ degree heat. That has happened to me twice while trav- elling, and both times some lovely person eventually walked or bicycled by, either whipping out their uber old school phone (no wi-fi capabilities or camera, but gets the best reception) and called someone a few villages over, who brought a new tire or just changed it for us.
