When I get to the home her mother showed me the decorated room for her sons. It was a double celebration as Halil and smaller brother had already been circumcised. The room looked amazing, the bed was specially decorated and pictures were hung. I spoke with the boys and took their pictures and afterwards the party started.All the women wore traditional dresses and the colours were all out on show. The men dressed as they normally would for such an event. They all danced together and enjoyed themselves. Along with the dancing, the villagers all helped to create a big dinner. The lamb was served up with a sauce called Keskek (a type of obbercion Crème) The men drank a little alcohol, but the women did not touch a drop. The party was over 23 hours long, but partying with the villagers was uplifting. I was offered another chance to sample village life and was invited back for a different type of celebration all together.25
