The village and people were vibrant, surrounded by their natural environment. Conversation was easy between us and an invitation to come to a wedding taking place there was offered and accepted. Maria and I returned to our hotel excited by the invite and the prospect of being allowed to attend a very private and unique ceremony. We returned two days later and asked again if it was alright to take pictures. We were welcomed as one of their own and Maria would take part in many of the activities children participate in during the build up to the ceremony. I was invited into the house of the bride, who was preparing for the big day. It was interesting to me, as I had never met nomadic people before.Alongside taking many photos, many questions were asked and over the course of our conversations it became apparent that the ceremony takes place over two days. On the first day, the bride and groom wear everyday normal clothes and like any other couple, have to go to register their marriage. It is on the first night that they hold the wedding party for family and friends. The first day I got a little bit disappointed because everything was done the normal way, but just being there was an amazing feeling for me because it is so different from city life.11
