In The Outer Banks has the name and allure of a place where people go to be outlaws and live by their own ideals and rules. It is the place where the legendary pirate Blackbeard called his home and final resting place. The Outer Banks name beckons the call of the wild, mysterious swamps, and renegade communities. At least those are some of the ideas that came to mind when I packed a bag and headed south to North Carolina.
Whether by hook or crook I wanted to find out what all the fuss was about, and what makes the Outer Banks the must see destination, for people who want to get away from it all and tell a tall tale or two. What I discovered is that the OBX, as it is referred to, has a little somethin’ somethin’ for everybody.
